Fire safety records should be simple to keep

Pioneer Fire is a small, independent UK business. We build the tools that help small offices and shops keep up with their weekly fire safety checks and prove they did them.

Who is behind Pioneer Fire

Pioneer Fire is run by Joe Cooper, a sole trader based in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. Pioneer Fire is a trading name of Joe Cooper.

It is a one-person business, so when you write to us you are writing to the person who built and runs it. You can reach us on joecooper@pioneerfire.co.uk.

Why fire safety matters to me

I have a real interest in fire safety, and I want to promote it. It is one of those subjects most people only think about after something goes wrong, and I would like more people to think about it before.

Good management is the best safety a business can have.

That is what I believe, and it is why Pioneer Fire exists. Alarms, extinguishers and fire doors matter, but equipment only helps when someone looks after it. Safe premises come from habits: checking things every week, fixing problems quickly, training staff and keeping a record of what was done.

Those habits do not need to be complicated or expensive. They need to be easy enough that a busy owner actually keeps them up. That is the job I built Pioneer Fire to do, and the reason I want to help more small businesses see fire safety as part of running a business well, not a box to tick once a year.

Why it was built

In the UK, whoever runs a business premises is legally responsible for fire safety. That means regular checks, working equipment, clear exits and trained staff, and being able to show what you did and when.

For a small business that often means a paper sheet on a clipboard, or nothing at all. Sheets go missing, checks get skipped in busy weeks, and when an inspector or insurer asks for the record there is a scramble.

Pioneer Fire was built to take the friction out of it: a short weekly checklist you can complete on your phone, a dated history you can print, a simple way to record drills and training, and plain guides that explain what each check is for.

Who it is there to help

Pioneer Fire is made for the person who ends up responsible for fire safety alongside everything else they do.

  • Shop owners and managers

Independent shops and small retailers who need a quick weekly routine and a record of it.

  • Small offices

Offices and workshops with a handful of staff and no dedicated health and safety team.

  • Small venues and community spaces

Cafés, salons, halls and clubs where visitors do not know the building and staff need to know the plan.

What we do, and what we don't

We give you tools and plain-English guides: weekly check logs, training and drill records, an equipment register and a risk assessment worksheet.

We are not a fire risk assessor, a fire engineer or a regulator, and we do not give legal advice. Pioneer Fire does not make a building compliant. It helps you keep and show the records. Where your premises need a professional assessment, use a competent assessor.

Your records are private to your account. You can download them or delete your account at any time. Read our privacy notice for the detail.
